Having not visited apart from Sunday Lunch for almost 10 months decided to spend our Anniversary meal there! David and staff welcomed us like old friends. Our meals were wonderful and Marco the chef asked Rob for feedback on a new dish he was introducing with his curry. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We ate far too much and have booked a table for Sunday evening for Carvery!

From the moment we arrived we felt this was a different place….as we opened the door we were greeted by an impressive historical space. The decor accented the old world feeling …a high brick ceiling with gorgeous arches separating sections of the room….a friendly welcome at the door by the owner and invited to take any table we desired.
The daily special’s board was delivered personally to our table and left for our perusal. We received prompt and excellent service and the food was also exceptional. The deserts were to die for…..absolutely delicious, alone worth the trip.
The owner was genuinely concerned that you enjoyed your experience and provided much detail about the region ….. as well as suggesting other restaurants we may want to try during our stay.
The chef also made it a point of assuring the food was to your liking by visiting each table.
All in all, Vaults truly differentiated itself and the venue just enhanced the whole experience…definitely “ worth the drive”.

Our family of 9 had an outstanding
experience at their Sunday Carvery. Everyone raved about the quantity and
quality of the meats and vegetables. David gave us a history of the place and
his previous experiences in life. Made us feel at home. We highly recommend the
Vaults for a wonderful dining experience.

We called into Vaults Restaurant for
a mid-week lunch, knowing nothing about it. The Canadian owner was extremely
friendly and welcoming, and spent time to explain about the various dishes
available. Such good value - two top quality courses for only 9 Euros per
person! The home-made mushroom soup was the best we had ever had, so thick and
tasty, and the lamb tagine was absolutely delicious. The ingredients and
preparation were first-class, and the ambience of this beautiful little
restaurant was excellent. There was the added advantage of discovering that the
house red wine is extremely high quality at a budget price! We thoroughly
recommend this restaurant, and will definitely return there.

Wow! We would give Vaults 10 stars if we could.
In the Algarve for a week's vacation
with our two sons, we first went to Vaults for its well-known Carvery on Sunday
evening. The reception was warm and friendly and food was first rate! The
carvery table was groaning with roast pork, lamb and beef and a remarkable
array of vegetables. We all went back for seconds. The boys also had some of
the home-made desserts: apple crumble and a warm brownie with ice cream, both
were deemed delicious. An outstanding dinner for four for under €75.00,
definitely great value for money.
Our second visit was for dinner
during the week On this occasion we met Chef Marco and he explained the various
menu options to us. I had a steak and everyone else had burgers. The steak was
cooked to perfection, a proper medium-rare. The burgers were home-made, juicy
and flavourful. Once again the vegetables were worth mentioning: not
over-cooked, colourful and well-presented. The desserts were outstanding: an
amazing cherry-almond flan, Vaults version of Eton mess and a five star
We were really bowled over by the
exceptional service by the staff and the quality of the food. We will be back!
